Mixed opening for the major US stock indices

The major US indices are opening with mixed results. The Dow industrial average is lower while the S&P and NASDAQ indices are marginally higher. The S&P index is near all-time high closing levels at 6118.71. The high price has reached 6122.08 in early trading, but has moved marginally below that level currently.

A snapshot of the market five minutes into the open is showing:

• Dow industrial average -58.95 points or -0.13% at 44652.48.
• S&P index up 0.25 points or 0.0% at 6115.32.
• NASDAQ index up 6.92 points or 0.03% at 19952.57.
• Russell 2000 up 7.58 points or 0.33% at 2289.77.

Shares of Meta are working on it 20th day in a row higher. Shares are currently up $1 or 0.16% at $729.70.
