US August industrial production +0.4% vs +0.1% expected

  • Prior was +1.0% (revised to +0.7%)
  • Manufacturing output +0.1% vs +0.1% prior
  • Prior output +0.5% (revised to +0.4%)
  • Capacity utilization 79.7% vs 79.3% prior (revised to 79.5%)

The downward revision covers the beat so I wouldn't get too excited about this release.
