BUX Appoints Salim Sebbata as Managing Director for Stryk

<p>Netherlands-based online broker, BUX, has appointed Salim Sebbata, the Chief Executive Officer of its United Kingdom office, as Managing Director of Stryk.</p><p>BUX, which operates zero-free trading app, BUX Zero, <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/forex/brokers/bux-rebrands-cfds-trading-platform-to-stryk/">rebranded BUX X</a>, its contract for difference (CFD) trading platform, to Stryk in July.</p><p>Sebbata's LinkedIn profile shows that he started acting in the capacity in July and remains the CEO of BUX UK.</p><p>The executive, who has over two decades of financial industry experience, joined BUX in July 2021 from Trade Capital UK where he was Executive Director.</p><p>He was also previously the Group Business Development Director and Senior Vice President of the Trade Capital Holding in Cyprus.</p><p>Sebbata also vast experience of working in the Middle East, a region where he spent years in senior roles working for CMC Markets, E*TRADE Financial, and Mubasher Global.</p><p>At CMC Markets, he was the Head of Middle East for over two years between 2016 and 2018 and was based in the United Arab Emirates.</p><p>At E*TRADE Financial, he served in several capacities during his almost seven years career stay at the company. This included senior roles as Vice President and Head of Middle East and also as the Head of Business-to-Business (Growth).</p><p>Expansion</p><p>Sebbata's new appointment is one of several appointments BUX has made in recent months.</p><p>In June, the brokerage <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/executives/moves/bux-hires-former-abn-executive-niek-van-rens-as-coo/">hired Niek van Rens</a>, the Global Head of Innovation at ABN AMRO Clearing Bank, as its Chief Operations Officer.  </p><p>Earlier in May, the broker also <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/executives/moves/bux-welcomes-alvaro-vidal-as-country-manager-for-spain/">appointed Alvaro Vidal</a>, the former Head of Spain at Amsterdam-based stock broker DeGiro, as its Country Manager for Spain.</p><p>Additionally, BUX <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/executives/moves/bux-names-dan-zbijowski-as-chief-marketing-officer/">tapped Dan Zbijowski</a>, the Vice President of International Marketing at Delivery Hero, to lead its marketing efforts.</p><p>These hires are targeted towards strengthening BUX's presence in Europe. </p><p>This is even as the broker recently <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/forex/brokers/bux-acquires-cyprus-license-hires-jean-raphael-nahas-as-md/">received the Cyprus Investment Firm license</a> from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission to offer financial services in the region. </p><p>The license came after BUX completely transferred its CFD clients in Europe under the UK office to its Cyproit entity. The company also hired Jean-Raphael Nahas to lead its CFD operations in Cyprus as Managing Director.</p><p>Meanwhile, in June, <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/forex/brokers/bux-zero-launches-in-italy-as-european-expansion-continues/">BUX launched BUX Zero in Italy</a>, marking the 8th country where the brokerage has launched the zero-fee trading app. The company <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/forex/brokers/bux-launches-investment-app-bux-zero-in-the-netherlands/">first launched</a> the app in the Netherlands in 2019. </p><p>Last year, the stock brokerage also introduced the apps, which it said has been tailor-designed for both experienced and beginner investors, to markets in Ireland and Spain.</p>
