US equities sink in early trade

Yesterday's late rally in US stocks set the stage for a continuing bounce but that hasn't happened. Renewed selling in tech stocks has taken over and sentiment has worsened since the open.

    S&P 500 down 44 points to 4253
    Nasdaq down 216 poitns to 13,317


Microsoft, Visa and Alphabet report after the close.
