<p>Paxos, a regulated blockchain
infrastructure company, has hired Carolina Ceballos, the former Deputy Chief
Compliance Officer at Facebook Payments, as its first dedicated Chief
Compliance Officer.</p><p>Paxos' General Counsel, Ben Gray, announced
Ceballos' appointment on Thursday in a statement <a href="https://paxos.com/2022/09/08/paxos-welcomes-its-first-dedicated-chief-compliance-officer-carolina-ceballos/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">published</a> on Paxos' website.</p><p>Gray described Ceballos' appointment as
another significant step taken by Paxos toward strengthening the company's culture of
compliance and oversight. </p><p>The General Counsel noted that Ceballos has
been charged with ensuring that Paxos meets its global regulatory obligations. </p><p>Ceballos will also
see to it that <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/tag/paxos/" target="_blank">the blockchain infrastructure company</a>  continues to act as
a trusted partner for clients on all compliance issues, Gray said.</p><p>"I'm happy to share that I'm starting a

regulation, policy, compliance and risk management related to financial

Carolina's stewardship will ensure that Paxos remains the safest and most
reliable blockchain infrastructure company in the market," Paxos said in the statement. </p><p>Ceballos' High-Profile Career</p><p>Ceballos' experience of more than 15 years of industry comes from working at high-profile organizations such as
<a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/tag/facebook/" target="_blank">Facebook</a>, Western Union, the Bank of France, the Prudential Control and
Resolution Authority (ACPR), the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation
(HSBC), among others.</p><p>She joined Facebook in June 2019 and spent over three years at the social media network managing the Facebook Payments
<a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/tag/compliance/" target="_blank">compliance programme</a> and supporting Facebook's growing international payments ecosystem.</p><p>At Western Union, where she worked for
over five years from June 2014, she rose to become the Regional Vice President of Anti-Money Laundering Compliance for Latin America and the Caribbean. </p><p>When she worked for <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/tag/france/" target="_blank">the Bank of France</a> for
five months in 2014, Ceballos supported the central bank's oversight of financial
market infrastructures, among other duties.</p><p>Furthermore, during her three-year stay at ACPR,
Ceballos spearheaded the examinations of obligated financial institutions and
presented her inspection reports to the companies' Board of Directors and the General
Secretary of the French supervisory authority.</p><p>Additionally, she worked at Lazard, a global
financial advisory and asset management firm, and at Lehman Brothers, a defunct global financial
services firm.</p>
