Highlights of the Reuters Tankan report:

• Manufacturers' business confidence improved in November to +6 (from October +4) for the
  first time since August
• Service-sector mood rose for a
  second month in November, to +27 (from October +24)

Reuters Tankan indexes are calculated by subtracting the percentage of pessimistic respondents from optimistic ones. A positive reading means optimists outnumber pessimists.
