Euronext FX's Spot Volume Drops -7% to 1.4 Trillion in Q3 22

<p>The volume of spot forex traded on Euronext FX dropped -7% quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) to $1.44 trillion at the end of the third quarter of 2022, when compared to the $1.54 trillion generated during the previous quarter.</p><p>The average daily volume (ADV) also dropped -8% to $21.74 billion from last quarter's $23.64 billion.</p><p>Euronext disclosed these figures in its <a href="https://www.euronext.com/en/about/media/euronext-press-releases/euronext-announces-volumes-for-september-2022">September 2022 monthly volumes</a> released on Friday.</p><p>The total volume on Euronext FX jumped 17.8% month-over-month (MoM) to approximately $533 billion in September and 30.6% year-over-year.</p><p>When compared to the third quarter of 2021, Euronext FX's total spot volume grew 24.2% QoQ from $1.16 trillion.</p><p>The spot forex trading venue's ADV also improved 23.1% MoM from $19.7 billion in August to $24.2 billion in September.</p><p>Euronext FX, <a href="Euronext FX, previously FastMatch, is the European New Exchange Technology's (Euronext) electronic communication network for forex trading." target="_blank" rel="nofollow">previously FastMatch</a>, is the European New Exchange Technology's (<a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/tag/euronext/" target="_blank">Euronext</a>) electronic communication network for forex trading.</p><p>Quarterly Output Comparison</p><p>During the first quarter of the year, Euronext FX's volume grew 23% to $1.57 trillion from <a href="https://www.euronext.com/sites/default/files/2022-02/20220210_ENX_Q42021_PR%20VF.pdf">the fourth quarter of 2021</a>. </p><p>The ADV also jumped 27% to $24.5 billion from fourth quarter 2021's $19.3 billion.</p><p>Compared to the first quarter of 2021, Q1 2022's volume represents <a href="https://www.euronext.com/sites/default/files/financial-event-doc/2022-05/20220517_Euronext_PR_Q122.pdf">a 16.2% growth</a> in total volume.</p><p>During the second quarter of the year, the trading venue's spot volume dropped -2.1% to $1.54 trillion from Q1 2022's figures.</p><p>The ADV also dropped -4% to  $23.64 billion from Q1 2022's daily average.</p><p>But when compared to Q1 2021, total volume during the second quarter of this year <a href="https://www.euronext.com/sites/default/files/financial-event-doc/2022-07/20220728_Euronext_PR_Q222_VF.pdf">jumped 27%</a> QoQ.</p><p>The ADV of Q2 2022 also <a href="https://www.financemagnates.com/institutional-forex/euronext-sees-solid-quarter-as-revenue-jumps-14-to-3747m/">climbed 27%</a> to $23.6 billion, compared to Q2 2021.</p><p>Other Volumes</p><p>Meanwhile, on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, Euronext FX's total volume increased 22.2% to $4.5 trillion compared to YTD 2021's $3.72 trillion.</p><p>Similarly, the YTD ADV shot up 21.6% to $23.3 billion, up from $19.2 billion in the same period last year.</p><p>At the cash market, total transaction value increased 13% MoM to €226.8 billion from 65,916,154 transactions in September.</p><p>The daily average of monthly transactions  also went up 19% MoM to €10.3 billion from an average 2,996,189 transactions per day.</p>
